single digits until Christmas!! #9

Happy Sunday funday! I hope you all had a nice and relaxing weekend and made the best of this rainy gloomy Sunday night. I’m currently mentally preparing for the work week coming up lol, (tomorrow is going to be the mondayest-Monday everrrrrr)…. because I just had the most enjoyable AND surprisingly affordable day! If you need a cure for the Sunday Scaries and you’re not sure what to do on a cold, rainy Sunday- you, my friend- are in the right place!!!!

My best friend Ali and I are always searching for something fun to do- that also doubles as a great photo op. We are professionals at going to polo matches (I mean if you’ve ever seen the spread we bring… you’d understand), we love a good beach sunset & of course a nice glass of champagne. If we were made of money- I’m positive we’d have our own place in Newport by now… considering we’re there twice a week during the summer. That’s the best part about living so close to Rhode Island- but today- we decided, why not head to our favorite place for the day, and what a day we had.

We started the day by doing a tour of the Newport Mansion “The Elms” and I should of brought all of my belongings because I am ready to live there full time. It was so BEAUTIFUL and ya’ll… it was less than 20$ to tour it!!! Santa was also there, so there were so many cute babies dressed up to have their picture taken with him (a great thing you could also bring kids too!)

It was completely decorated for Christmas with garland everywhere, wreaths, and about a Christmas tree in every corner of the house (my favoriteeeee). After we finished our tour, we walked around the entire mansion, just in complete awe of how beautiful (and huge…. they used to consider these their summer cottages!?!!??)

Once we were done at The Elms, and not ready to leave Newport (thanks to Ali and her mom!!) we had made reservations for tea at the Grace Vanderbilt hotel. When I tell you this was the most incredible experience, all of you need to try this. The hotel was the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever seen in my life. I felt like I had left New England and traveled to London (also got me excited for our trip there in a few weeks!!) We splurged a little and got the ‘high tea’ experience which was 30$ per person… BUT it included a mimosa, or a peach Bellini , three cups of tea, AND a three tiered platter of sweet and savory snacks…It was incredible! We are already planning to go back with our moms for afternoon tea.

So many perfect photo op’s, so many beautiful sights and so many Christmas trees- it truly was the perfect description of Sunday Funday. And for less than 50$, it was definitely a day I suggest doing and absolutely plan on doing again!

I’m so thankful for my friendship with this girl- we’ve been friends for 10 years. We joke about what 90 years old is gonna be like together and it looks pretty damn good with our matching robes (can’t wait). She is the funniest person I know and my truest friend.. I mean guys- she stuck by me through the braces & blow dried bangs / scrunched hair phase.. if thats not a true and loyal friend- I’m not sure what is hahahah.

I’m so glad I have someone who loves taking pictures / having them taken as much as I do. We’re going to have so much fun looking back when were old, at 20 year old us. We’ve definitely blossomed since sophomore year of high school. The glow up is certainly real… and at this rate- can’t wait to see what we look like when were 90!

I love ya!!!
