Listening + Learning
I know I am not the only one when I say- I am disgusted that our world still operates in this manner in the YEAR 2020. And I will also say, that I was completely naive to how bad it actually was, before the recent news of the killings of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd. I shared on my instagram that as a teacher in a diverse community I feel an immense sense of ownership to make change, and especially as an educator; I know that this change can start right in Kindergarten.
I have ordered a lot of books to educate myself over the summer which I encourage you to as well (or if I missed a good book that you’re reading add it in the comments!) And I found so many beautiful, age appropriate books that you can read to kids, or even put in a library in your classroom.
