holiday

finish wrapping, clean the house & grab the booze— only 3 more days!

This is always the busy weekend of getting last minute gifts, finishing wrapping, cooking, baking, cleaning and doing LITERALLY EVERYTHING! I try to make sure that I have everything done before this weekend so I can help out my mom / RELAX. I did have to run two last minute errands this morning. But as much as I love the holidays, I cannot stand waiting in lines and traffic so I woke up early and was at the stores as soon as they opened & I even was ambitious enough to head to the gym and get a workout in before heading home. (feeling very accomplished today!)

I came home, cleaned my room and finished wrapping all my presents AND I even helped Jojo wrap some of hers – truly have channeled my inner Grandma’s wrapping abilities I think 😉

Lots of talent over here 😉 jk I hid all my screw ups on the other side of my bed… can’t wait to move all these presents under the big tree!!!

I am the type of person who LOVES giving gifts- I truly cannot wait for everyone to see the gifts I thought of & gave them! I takes a lot for me not to be like that little kid in the Lowes commercial from last Christmas ‘It’s a craftsman toolset!’

along with all the wrapping and baking that was done this weekend- this little elf also made a pit stop at the grocery store AND the liquor store. Not to sound like an AA member in the making, but I love creating festive drinks AND I love making the drink bar Christmas morning!! (might be my favorite part of the kitchen during Christmas Day honestly)

So I’ve been searching high and low for ideas on Pinterest and I found some cute and (delicious) ideas *I will link them below.

So the First drink option is called the Santa Clausmopolitan (cute right?!) Its a martini, with a cranberry/lime twist (honestly delish) https://www.pinterest.com/pin/482588916313701280/

Second drink of Christmas is a Cranberry Orange Mimosa– ANYONE who knows me KNOWS I love Champagne and mimosas- so you can certainly find me drinking these all day long! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/59813501279400080/

Lastly- a classic with a little twist, good ole glass of champagne (actually.. this is so festive looking I might have this in my hand from now until Christmas……)

I just took a little branch of the rosemary, picked some of the end pieces off and put a few cranberries on the end! You also could just top it with some floating cranberries!

I didn’t stop there ladies & gents!! I thought I’d share some of the healthy appetizers I will be having for our Christmas Day with our fam! Also more things I found on Pinterest that are just too cute not to share! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/AT0DsVvtzNl4p69HGu3uXxhtE4sUNxXpZOdrjt6RfyKW__ZsfVFbigg/

So cute & healthy! Like I had mentioned in this post; https://everydaymarinnatayyy.com/how-to-stay-on-track-during-the-holidays/ — its easy to stand at the chip bowl and eat and eat mindlessly- but if you provide a healthy alternative you’re more likely to snack on that and feel way less guilty about it!!

Another festive and yummy (less healthy) app is this Caprese WREATH!! How cute and festive ugh https://www.pinterest.com/pin/8725793008272807/

All of the grocery items I purchased from Trader Joe’s (my new favorite grocery store!) **If you’d be interested in me doing a haul the next time I go / what I plan to make; comment below!!!) && all the lq I purchased from our local lq store!

Thank you for reading!! I know this was a long one, but I appreciate you sticking through this one!!! Were off to go see the new Grinch Movie — soooooo excited!! I AM A CHILD!!! hehe

Hope you enjoyed this & maybe you got some inspiration for our own Christmas parties– as much work and planning goes into this time of year, make sure you take a step back throughout all the wrapping, stress, cleaning and cooking over the next couple days to really think of the true meaning of Christmas.

xoxo Marinna
